Important Documents Checklist
The following important documents should be stored in a safe place which should be known by your next of kin or trusted friend:
- Will - It is advisable to keep your Will with your solicitor
- Birth and marriage certificates
- Property deeds
- Lease agreements
- Taxation records - It is advisable to keep copies of the last five years returns and assessments
- Insurance policies
- Superannuation policies
- Documents for other assets (shares, debentures etc)
- Financial records - These provide information to your Executor about where your money is held
- Pre-paid funeral contract or bond
